Why do prices between domain registrars differ so much?

Why do prices between domain registrars differ so much?

I've registered a .gl (Greenland) domain a while ago. My current registrar
offers this domain for $126/year. I've looked around a bit today and found
the following prices for the exact same domain name with different
registrars:
European registrar $130/y
Belgian registrar $126/y
New Zealand registrar $89/y
US registrar A $70/y
US registrar B $49/y
Other hosts had similar prices (either around $130 or $70). Why are there
such huge price differences between something simple like a domain name?
Does it depend on the size of the registrar and the effort to sell such a
TLD to a limited amount of customers?
