It Takes A Village Today and Darryl Johnson joined forces just in time for valentines weekend, to present the off-Broadway stage play Love Hurts. Performances will be held at the American Theater of Actors for one week only, February 9th thru February 13, 2011.
Love Hurts, written by Darryl Johnson and directed by Dwight Ali Williams, examines the inner thoughts, desires and secrets of four couples in love and how much love hurts when secrets are revealed. during an annual weekend get together at Diane and Wayne's house. Every year the couples get together and play a game of Truth or Dare, but this year a whole lot has changed in their lives as hidden desires and secrets are pushed to the surface we discover that sometimes Love Hurts!
ABOUT THE WRITER:
Darryl Johnson was born and raised in Queens, New York. He has written and produced four stage plays to date; God can and God will, Everybodys Somebodys, Fool and the holiday play The Ties that Bind. His newest stage play Love Hurts has caught the attention of many fans and garnered him credit for being the next Tyler Perry.

Multi-talented cast members of Love Hurts features Delano Barbosa who starred in the controversial newest video titled "far away" by Marsha Ambrosius and opened up for Akon with his new single being released in spring 2011. Setore Attipoe starred in the famous off broadway play titled "All American Girls" written by Layon Gray, John Shaw who starred in the films, "Brothers gonna work it out", "Behind closed doors" and "Take no prisoners", Brenton Duplessie who starred in the independent film "Circle of Trust", Emily Rupp who starred in the film "Deep score" written by John Levy and "wrecked" with Drew Moore,
Darlene Banks, Jada Mary-neal, Myron Duncan and Kristina Nicole-Miller.
