Pizza Fusion Boosts Employee Morale with Emphasis on Quality of Life

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) October 5, 2007

Following suit on their good business practices, the executives of Pizza Fusion (http://www.pizzafusion.com), America's greenest restaurant concept, are enhancing productivity at their corporate offices by establishing an office culture based on quality of life. From complimentary lunches and late passes to out-of-the-office events, like go-carting on Fridays, Pizza Fusion's corporate offices are everything but corporate and, with an enormous growth rate this year, productivity is only increasing.

Vaughan Lazar, CEO and co-founder of Pizza Fusion, grew up surfing and snowboarding in Rhode Island. A lover of outdoor sports, he competes annually in the World Adult Kickball Association (http://www.kickball.com) league where, this year, his team took 1st Place at the National Tournament in Boston, Massachusetts. Vaughan brought his love for kickball into the office earlier this year and started a Pizza Fusion kickball team, appropriately named 'Feets O' Fusion.'

"Our motivation in founding Pizza Fusion stemmed from our own personal desires to be a part of a rewarding project that provided us with a better quality of life," Vaughan explains. "We decided from day one that we would always have a workplace culture that was as enriching and exciting as our personal lives. We believe it's made all the difference with a stronger work performance, better morale, and much higher attendance with all our employees or family as we prefer to consider ourselves."

Other examples of their laid back approach to business are giving late passes on the days there's surf, organizing company outings, such as concerts and go-carting, buying lunch for the 'family,' think tank sessions at the Frog and Toad (a local pub) and instituting a jeans and t-shirt dress code. The ambiance of Pizza Fusion's headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida reflects that of their restaurants with hand painted murals and satellite radio broadcasting throughout.

"I never wake up in the morning and dread coming into the office. In fact, most days I look forward to it," Katy Livingston, creative director at Pizza Fusion, explains. "Not only do I get to do what I love for a living but I get the added bonus of working for a socially conscious company that is trying to make the world a better place. That culture definitely transcends into our office. Everyone here is like family. Even on the weekends, we have potluck gatherings and kickball games. We all want to be here, and it's obvious that our business philosophy is what drives us to work hard; not some overbearing boss with strict rules."

Since launching their franchise program in February of this year, Pizza Fusion has taken the lead as America's greenest restaurant concept with an industry leading environmentally sustainable approach to their restaurants' buildout, service and operations. Currently, the company has over 50 franchises opening in seven states, including California, Nevada, Colorado, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia and Florida.

GL Announces Echo, Delay, and Voice Quality Analysis of Voice Calls in VoIP, TDM, 2Wire, and Mobile Networks

Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA (Vocus/PRWEB) March 04, 2011

GL Communications Inc. announced today the release of its newest Echo Measurement Utility Software(EMU) that measures Echo Path Delay (EPD) and Echo Return Loss (ERL) of voice calls. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Robert Bichefsky, Senior Manager, said, Echo can be as simple as sidetone, or more complex such as line, and acoustic echo. The EMU when combined with GLs VQuad, Dual UTA, T1 E1 Analyzers, or Voiceband Analyzer, additional voice quality metrics such as round trip delay (RTD), voice quality, and noise can also be measured.

He added, A voice call may transit a variety of networks Mobile, VoIP, TDM, and others. A typical call can have many of the following characteristics that can affect quality: narrowband (8 kbps) or wideband call (> 64 kbps), end-to-end digital but with D/D conversions (codec conversions), many D/A and A/D conversions, additive noise and/or background noise, speech level variations, variable delay, echo in the form of sidetone, line echo, or acoustic echo, signaling and voiceband conversions that affect DTMF, FAX, and MODEM transmissions, packet delay, loss, sequencing, and duplications.

Mr. Bichefsky explained, To provide a comprehensive assessment of voice quality irrespective of network type, GL has combined various tools together into one platform consisting of VQuad, Dual UTA, USB T1 E1, and WEBViewer. This platform provides the ability to make VoIP, TDM, and Mobile calls from any fixed or mobile location. All interface flexibility is provided (2Wire, 4Wire, VoIP, TDM, and Mobile) within the Dual UTA and USB T1 E1 Analyzer. In addition, VQuad provides algorithms for signaling, voice transmission, and voice quality assessment. WEBViewer provides the central point where voice metrics are stored and displayed through a WEB interface.

Recently, GL introduced Echo Measurement Utility (EMU) software within this architecture to assess sidetone, line, and acoustic echo and corresponding delays. EMU is an offline adjunct analysis application (under control of VQuad) that compares the source and received files to determine echoes and delay of echoes. The EMU provides delay and ERL measurements for all detected echoes, along with an ERL vs Delay plot where each echo is depicted within the plot. One can zoom-in on a particular echo to gauge overall echo impairments. In addition, the application includes signal graphs for source signal, received signal, error signal, and adaptive filter coefficients.

Main Features:

Measures EPD in msec and ERL in dB

Compares source and received files to determine maximum of 4 echoes

Ability to automate the entire test process using VQuad scripting including sending the results to the central database for access via GLs WebViewer

Detailed offline analysis

Supports Line and Acoustic Echo Modes

Graphically displays source signal, received signal, error signal, and adaptive filter coefficients

Allows zoom-in on each graph, and exporting snapshot of these graphs to a file for later analysis

Calculates adaptive filter coefficients and echo characteristics for the error signal

Speaker option to play the audio files (intrusive and non-intrusive)

Option to zoom-in on any particular echo to investigate further
